Trekking Facilities

The Himalaya chain is spread southeast to northwest across the Asian continent. What is called the ‘Indian Himalayas’ is that part of the Himalayan chain which lies within Indian Territory.

India is a vast country with the Himalayan Range forming its northern boundary.

Facilities Provided

Provision of all camping gear like tents (4-man high altitude Dome tents on twin sharing) sleeping bags(hollow fibre bags attached with sleeping bag liners), mattresses, toilet tent, wash tent(with hot water once a day), camping furniture, ice axe, ropes and so on.

Stay on full board at SnowView Hotel(Ranikhet) and Wayfarer Himalaya Lodge (Munsiyari) whenever necessary.

Provision of essential support services like escort, cooks, porters, mules, one rider pony(for any emergency) and basic medical kit. Trekkers will not be expected to carry their personal belongings during any of the Nanda Devi treks. Mules and porters will transport all bags.

To and fro railway reservation in air conditioned class in New Delhi – Kathgodam Shatabdi Express or similar from Delhi and from Kathgodam for all international trekkers and all those who desire to have this service.

Provision of vegetarian meals troughout the trek. Meals to comprise breakfast, lunch(which may be packed at times) and regular dinner. Breakfast and dinner would be supplied in a separate dinning tent.

Jeep transport from Kathgodam to starting point of the trek and return to Kathgodam for all those selecting to follow our regular itineraries.

Arrangements for hotel accommodation in Delhi on request.

A Normal Trekking Day

At around 6 a.m. tea will be brought to you in your tent. The day's walk will typically begin after breakfast at 7 a.m. and you will walk for six or seven hours on average each day. Packed lunches will be served en route each day at a picturesque spot.

In the afternoon, porters will travel ahead and set up camp, so everything will be ready for you when you arrive at around 3 or 4 p.m. Dinner will be served early to make the most of the last light of evening.
